The protection to see these records comes from the Florida Public Records Act, which works in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act.

Accessing public Florida criminal court records depends on the court that heard the case. The Florida Courts System comprises a Supreme Court, five District Courts of Appeal, 20 Circuit Courts, and 67 County Courts. Non-confidential criminal records are available to interested requesters at any of the courts.
